Hello there! If you're here, that means you've found my request for an exchange I've signed up to! Writing a separate letter for every exchange when I usually copy/paste the intro/my likes and such every time has gotten a little tiring, so this is just going to cover everything and then I'm going to link to it from the letter I link for each exchange.

General information:

About likes in general: I usually give a summary of my likes in the request, but I'll go into detail here! To start: I LOVE VAMPIRES!!!! They're my special interest. If you write a fic about vampires for me (whether it's an AU or if they're vampires in canon) I will go crazy over it. I also love love love the vibes of gothic and cosmic horror. They scratch my brain in just the right way. There's a mystique around cosmic horror. I love the rituals, the tenebrosity of it. Gothic horror also does tension really well, which I love, and I'm a fan of gothic architecture and environments. Body horror (as long as it doesn't have my DNWs) is one of my favorite things to receive in a request.

About writing likes:I love receiving strange and unorthodox fanfics. These can be games, documents, scrap-books, whatever! I especially adore clever use of CSS and HTML. As for just regular writing, I do love mysteries and casefic, because it's always so satisfying to see the characters put together the puzzle pieces as a team and to find all sorts of secrets. I also love crackfic taken seriously!!! I read a Dracula x Barbie piece and I loved it so much. If you have a silly idea, please go for it, and put your heart and soul into it. I also like epistolary works! For example, think Dracula (novel 1897) or the Tomb Colonies area in Fallen London. It's the only situation in which I prefer first person, as first person usually squicks me out.

About ships:I think I usually mention the ships I like in my requests or in my letters, but please assume gen if I don't mention any ships! I'll always take a genfic, but I do like certain ships a lot too. (Plague Doctor/Grave Robber is a favorite if we match on DD) I'm also a fan of toxic yuri/yaoi ships. (more on that later.)

About endings: I'm happy with all kinds of endings! I love happy endings, tragic endings, fics that expand on bad endings of games, ambiguous endings, all of them! As long as it's not an "everyone dies at the end" kind of fic. I like bad endings to have weight and meaning, and it's hard to do that if everyone is dead. But good endings are also welcomed!

About character dynamics: I love genfics! Teams of characters working together and being competent. Family, found or not. A spy and their handler. A fledgeling vampire and their sire. There's so many I like that I can't list them all! I think shipfics are fine too; I think what I'd like to receive depends on the fandom, so keep an eye on any prompts. I really dig toxic yuri/yaoi with the right characters, and I don't mind certain relationships being very toxic (for example, with Darkest Dungeon, Grave Robber/Countess should probably not be very healthy). You can find more on that later down.

About romance/smut: I'm fine with romance, but generally I prefer to avoid smut. I'm fine if sex is implied off-screen, or if a fade-to-black takes place. As for my likes, here's a list of things I like to see when it comes to romance: nonsexual intimacy, quality time, low-burning candlelight, gentle touches, neck kisses, sharing a meal/drink, dressing up nicely for a partner, lingerie, low-light bars, drinking/moderate substance use together, focus more on the lead-up/foreplay of an intimate encounter, (such as movement onto a surface, removing garments, etc) with a fade to black before of any explicit sex occurs. I'm not one for graphic descriptions of physical acts. Metaphor and non-literal descriptions are your best friend, to be honest.

About toxic romance: I love toxic yuri/yaoi! (this also could include het but you gotta make it FEEL yaoi/yuri yknow?) When it comes to my likes, it's basically all of the previous romance tropes, face-touching/grabbing (violent or gentle/inspecting is fine), possessiveness, stalker/yandere, coercion, manipulation, dominance/obedience, and when Character A cannot refuse an order from Character B by supernatural compulsion. For the face touching, there's something a certain faction does in Fallen London where they just kind of casually inspect the player character's face like it's a cut of meat as they're talking to them, which I can't get enough of! It's such a subtle power display.

If you want specifics about my preferences regarding smut, click this sentence.
I'm comfortable up to and including disrobing. Tasteful/artistic nudity is fine, but I do not want detailed descriptions of genitalia in writing and explicit depictions of aroused genitalia. At most, I am fine with depictions of arousal without display of genitalia (feeling heat in the groin, getting hard) but I do not want mention of fluids.

About non-consent and dubious consent: I'm fine with nonconsensual and dubiously consensual acts that are NON-SEXUAL. This includes vampire bites, most forms of violence (stabbing, hitting, etc), physical restraints, drugging, manipulation, etc. Things get a little blurry around the romance section, but generally I'm fine with nonconsensual romantic touching on the head, face, arms, hands, legs, torso, collarbone, and neck. I DO NOT want nonconsensual romantic touching on the butt, breasts, genital areas, and feet, and I DO NOT want nonconsensual kissing anywhere other than face cheek/hand. If you're wondering whether or not I'm okay with it, feel free to ask.

About other sensitive content: I'm completely fine with gore and body horror UNLESS it includes teeth horror, damage to teeth, tooth rot/decay, detailed descriptions of teeth, (fangs/sharp teeth are fine!) or violence with unorthodox weapons such as nails, staples, screws, etc. If you need clarification on what qualifies as an unorthodox weapon, please don't hesitate to ask. I really enjoy body horror, especially monstrous transformations. (ex: werewolves, Abomination Darkest Dungeon, vampire turnings, etc). Involuntary curse transformations are good too. The fear of one's body changing with no control over it is something I love to read.

About kink: I go for exclusively nonsexual content! This means I do not want characters to experience arousal from these. In fact I generally just prefer they come up in the text as a narrative element, and for it to take a focus in description as a result. I would generally prefer these not to be written as a negotiated practice for relaxation/sensation purposes as well (unless it's service submission in which case it's all good), but I won't DNW it if you want to go that path. To use some niche terminology I've seen floating around online, I prefer non-diegetic kink as opposed to diegetic. I like these as kinks: blood, injury/wounds/pain, bondage/restraints/captivity, service submission (maid and/or butler is nice), AMAB forcefem (for trans women as a form of validation, for cis men as a form of submission), cross-dressing, corsets (as bondage as well as cross-dressing), sadism, masochism, body horror/body modification, monstrous and/or animal transformations, and experimentation/mad science. I don't mind these tropes/kinks being nonconsensual or dubiously consentual within the text because I'm specifically requesting that these be written in nonsexual contexts.
